The National Council for Combating Discrimination (CNCD) is the independent state authority that handles discrimination complaints — including discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, language, religion or health status.
- If you feel you have been treated unfairly — at work, in the healthcare system or when accessing public services — because of who you are, you can file a complaint directly with CNCD, free of charge.
- You can also go to court. A court may order compensation, a public apology or that the discriminatory behaviour stop.
- Employers found responsible may receive fines or other sanctions.
